Meet Your Federal Arts Advocacy Captain

Lorraine Poling

While not new to Arts Summit this will be Lorraine Poling’s first Summit as Delaware Captain. She has been with Delaware Arts Alliance since 2010, working closely with and eventually chairing their LEAD Committee. Lorraine recently stepped down from the Board of DAA to fill in as Interim Executive Director in November 2021 when prior ED (and DE Captain) Jessica Ball accepted the position of ED of DE Division of the Arts. Lorraine is “holding down the fort”, as it were, while DAA conducts a search for a new ED. Before coming to DAA in 2010 Lorraine spent 33 years as a visual arts educator in DE public schools. Through the years she taught at all grade levels, K- college. She holds a BAED from the University of Delaware, an MSED from Widener University, and is NBCT Art EAYA. Her work in art advocacy through Delaware Art Education Association and the National Art Education Association brings an arts education edge to DAA.
