Bethlehem, PA Workshop
Arts Marketing and Audience Engagement in the 21st Century: Building the Capacity of Pennsylvania’s Cultural Sector is a two-year capacity-building initiative, funded by the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts, that supports, strengthens and advances the arts marketing and audience engagement skills of arts and cultural professionals. The Initiative seeks to:
- Assist Pennsylvania-based arts and cultural organizations achieve increased and engaged audiences on a consistent basis through skill-building in the areas of arts marketing and audience engagement.
- Address long-term systemic issues of declining arts participation and loyal arts audiences in Pennsylvania.
- Assist arts and cultural organizations – particularly those within diverse communities – in attracting and retaining expanded audiences.
Arts professional(s) who reside and work in Pennsylvania arts and cultural organizations are invited and encouraged to attend this free, two-hour, in-person workshop to learn what is required to complete a successful application. Program details, selection criteria, and the application process will be covered. A digital informational session will be available for those who cannot attend in person.

DATE: Wednesday, March 8, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. ET
LOCATION: Frank Banko Alehouse Cinema at the ArtsQuest Center on the Steelstacks Campus, 101 Founders Way, Bethlehem, PA 18015.
PARKING AND DRIVING DIRECTIONS: Parking at SteelStacks is FREE. Parking lots are located on First Street and easy to find once you enter the SteelStacks campus. Handicapped parking is also available in the parking lots. These lots are about a block away from the ArtsQuest Center.
- From Rt 22, head south on Rt 378 and exit at the 3rd Street ramp. Turn left onto 3rd Street, heading east. Turn left at the stop light at Founders Way. The ArtsQuest Center will be on your right. Turn left onto 1st St to one of two parking lots (approximately 1 block away).
- From Rt 78, exit at the Rt 412/Main St, Hellertown exit and head north on Rt 412. Continue on Rt 412 to a slight right on Daly Avenue. Continue west Daly Avenue as it turns into 3rd Street. Turn right at the stop light at Founders Way. The ArtsQuest Center will be on your right. Turn left onto 1st St to one of two parking lots (approximately 1 block away).
- From Rt 378 south of Bethlehem, head north on Rt 378 and turn right at stop light on to 3rd Street, heading east. Turn left at the stop light at Founders Way. The ArtsQuest Center will be on your right. Turn left onto 1st St to one of two parking lots (approximately 1 block away).

Ruby is the Vice President, Equity and Local Arts Engagement for Americans for the Arts. Her portfolio includes external equity strategies and field education, leadership development, local arts advancement, and cohort building for the local arts agency field, arts and culture administrators, and arts marketers. She is the chief architect of the National Arts Marketing Project Conference. She was selected as a 2019 Arizona State University Practices for Change Fellow. She was recognized as an 2019 Inspirational Woman (Arts Advocate) by “And I Thought” Women in Literature. She is a steering committee member for the National Coalition on Arts Preparedness and Emergency Response, serves as Chair of the Gard Foundation, serves on the board for the Arts and Humanities Council of Montgomery County (Grants Committee/Advocacy Committee) and serves on the WETA Community Advisory Council.
Ruby’s work has focused on equitable access, grantmaking, supporting individual artists, community development, economic development, cultural tourism, marketing and public art. She draws on a varied background that includes corporate affairs, community relations, volunteerism, employee engagement, marketing and communications, and business administration. She served on the Emerging Leaders Council for Americans for the Arts, was the primary contact for the Arts and Economic Impact Study for Central Ohio and recently served as a mentor with Arts Administrators of Color DMV. She is a 2017 National Association of Latino Arts and Cultures Advocacy Leadership Institute Fellow, Class of 2017 American Express Leadership Academy Alum and Class of 2010 Next Generation of Leaders Fellowship program.
